Antique Restoration
Anglia Upholstery offers an extensive range of restoration services on all upholstery furnishings, including:
- Re-Upholstering using traditional methods and materials. We use traditional materials such as Horse Hair, Feather and Down, Copper Coil Springs, Hessian and Scrim.
- We can repair most wooden features, to a high standard by removing all the old glue ready for re-assembly and then prepare the wood, we also treat any woodworm, and repair any damage to the wood.
- We can repair any damage to the joints and fixtures.
- When repairing joints and fixtures we will replace any broken dowels and mortise/tenon joints.
- Re-Polishing : When re-polishing, we can re-polish any colour or match a colour to any specification , and provide an excellent finish.
Bespoke Furnishings
Here at Anglia Upholstery we design and make quality bespoke furnishings to any design specification and measurements.
We design and make most furnishings, these include:
- Sofas
- Chairs
- Ottomans
- Stools
- Footstools
- Headboards
- Chaise lounges and much more . . .
All our bespoke furnishings are designed using handmade quality hardwood frames. This a quality Beech wood, used because it provides a strong sturdy base to all our designs. We also use a high quality plywood where appropriate in our designs.
These handmade frames are made using a mixture of traditional and modern methods, to create an outstanding finished product, as well as using the best quality hardwood and fixings.
We also pride ourselves on the high standard of the fillings we use. These fillings include both traditional and modern options.
Traditional Materials include: Horse Hair, Feather and Down, Coil Springs, Hessian and Scrim, as well as much more.
Modern Materials include: Quality Foams, Rubberised Horse Hair, Hollow Fill and Dacron.
The finish created with the combination of these methods and materials is what we pride ourselves on.
Onsite Upholstery
We offer an exclusive service here at Anglia Upholstery as we are able to provide an onsite upholstery service.
Due to our organised and skilled team, and the many years experience our upholsterers have, we are able to bring the workshop to you.
The onsite upholstery service allows your furniture to receive the attention it requires in your home environment.
This allows us to carry out work where others might not be able too, and also saves you having the trouble of transporting the items to us.
For all our onsite work we take our Bambi silent air compressor so as not to cause too much disturbance to the house or neighbours. We can also load our trestles and sewing machine in the van so we literally have a mobile workshop that we can take anywhere, allowing us to provide the excellent service and create the high quality finish you would expect.
Curtains and Blinds
We provide an outstanding standard of made-to-measure curtains and blinds made with the highest quality of materials.
Our made-to-measure curtains can be either machined or hand-stitched, with the choice of many different linings and appealing design features.
The linings options we offer are:
- Thermal Lined
- Interlined
- Black out lining
The different design features we have to offer include:
- The Pencil Pleat
- The Pinch Pleat ( Triple Pleat / French Heading )
- Goblet Head
- Wave
- Pelmets & Ply Pelmets
- Eyelet
We use all top quality curtain fixings , allowing us to create an excellent finish.
All poles and tracks can be supplied and fitted by us, corded or un-corded types are manufactured by the best quality suppliers such as Silent Gliss.
The pole options we have to offer are:
- Wooden
- Metal
All of these are available in many different colours and thicknesses, plus different finial designs to add that something extra to the finished result.
Our made to measure Blinds can be made to any design specification.
Blinds often provide a smart solution to dressing a window in a modern context and they suit almost all window styles.
We offer a range of blinds, these include:
- Roman
- Roller
- Voiles / sheer
- Vertical
- Venetian
These are all made to the highest standard and can be delivered and fitted by us.
Loose Sofa Covers
We offer stunning tailor made removable/loose covers, designed and made to any specification.
As well as producing high quality loose sofa covers , we can also alter your current loose covers to produce a better fit and higher quality finish.
We also offer arm caps and headrests designed to suit the finished look you require.
These loose covers can be cut onsite or here at our workshop.
Our loose covers are produced using matching/colour co-ordinated cottons, zips and velcro.
Also all our loose covers are over-locked as this increases the finished product's life (durability), and as over-locking produces a neat edge it is also aesthetically pleasing which aids to the quality finish we produce.
Cushion Refurbishment
A lot of people don’t realise that if you’re not sitting comfortably, or have your knees above your hips, it can lead to all sorts of joint and other medical problems later in life. We offer replacement sofa cushions
for clients throughout Ipswich, Suffolk.
Foam Cut to Size
At Anglia Upholstery we offer the highest quality foam cut to any shape or size you require.
In store we are able to meet any specifications you require. We can cut foam while you wait, or you can send us the measurements and either collect the foam in store or we can have it delivered to you.
We have a wide range of different density foams which means we can cater to most needs.
Boats and Caravans
We can design and produce any shape or size furnishings for either your boat or caravan.
We can produce any shape and size cushions with any design features you require such as buttons, piping and top stitching.
We provide a large range of both designer and in house fabrics, however we can also design and make these cushions out of fabrics supplied by you as well.
Here at Anglia Upholstery we can also supply you with foam cut to size. We have found this service very popular with customers that have either a boat or caravan.

service. We will visit you at your home to look at the furniture where we can then tell you exactly how much fabric you need, and advise what will be the best way to get the best quality result for your order.
